D-Aspartic Acid, or DAA, is found in the pituitary gland and the gonads and stimulates the release of testosterone and luteinizing hormone. There have been several studies conducted using both rat and human test subjects on the oral administration of DAA and its effects on testosterone production. Maca Root – Originating in the Peruvian mountains of South America, Maca is very nutrient-dense, among its many nutrients is DIM (or, Diindolylmethane), which is classified as a phytochemical that’s also found in such cruciferous vegetables as broccoli and cabbage. Research has indicated that DIM helps regulate estrogen levels. Furthermore, research also indicates that Maca increases sex drive. One clinical study using male test subjects looked at the effects of dosages ranging from 1.5 grams to 3 grams over a 12-week period as compared to a placebo. At the end of the 12 weeks, the test subjects receiving Maca indicated an increased volume of semen much greater than those that received the placebo. It should be noted that the age range of the test subjects was varied, from the mid-20’s up into the mid-40’s.

Chrysin Extract – Derived from Passion Flower, Chrysin (or, 5, 7-dihydroxy flavone) contains anti-aromatase and antioxidant flavones. In its function as an aromatase inhibitor, Chrysin inhibits estrogen through three pathways:

• It stops excess testosterone from converting to estrogen
• It prevents estrogen from binding to estrogen receptors

DIM (3, 3’-Diindolylmethane) – as indicated above, DIM is a phytonutrient found in cruciferous vegetables. The primary function of DIM is to promote the healthy, normal metabolism of estrogen – in other words, to prevent excess levels of estrogen in the body. It’s mechanism of action is through one of two pathways that the liver uses to metabolize estrogen. This pathway results in the production of “good” metabolites known as 2-hydroxy estrogens. As a point of reference, the second pathway results in “bad” metabolites known as 4 or 16-hydroxy estrogens. DIM promotes the “good” 2-hydroxy pathway - these metabolites are “good” because they act as anti-oxidants, promote fat loss and can help reduce exercise-related muscle breakdown.

Chaste Tree Fruit Extract (Vitex Agnus Extract) – Chaste Tree is a plant originating in Asia as well as the Mediterranean countries.
