7,8-dihydroxyflavone is a naturally-occurring flavone. In vivo testing has shown that 7,8-DHF is orally-active and crosses the blood-brain barrier. 7,8-dihydroxyflavone, also known as DHF, is a potent tyrosine kinase receptor B (TrkB) agonist.

7,8-dihydroxyflavone mimics the activity of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and has potent neuroprotective and nootropic properties. It has also demonstrated some aromatase inhibition in in vitro testing.
