Q:Why was a whey isolate used instead of a whey concentrate?

A: Whey hydrolysate, also known as hydrolyzed whey protein, is a form of whey protein that has undergone a process called hydrolysis. This process breaks down the longer protein chains into shorter peptides and amino acids. This process allows it to be more rapidly absorbed than unhydrolyzed whey protein, delivering amino acids to the muscle quickly and aiding in recovery. Whey hydrolysate is also easier on the digestive system for those with heightened sensitivities.

Q:What is DE111 and why was it added?

A: Bacillus subtilis DE111 is a patented shelf stable probiotic strain that is clinically proven to provide health benefits. Q:How to enjoy:

A: Mix 1 scoop with 150-250 mL of water (or milk or any liquid you prefer), post-workout or anytime you need to up your protein intake. PRO TIP: Any meal that is low in protein is another good place to use your protein shake to top up your meal’s protein levels, as again, we cannot emphasize this enough – CONSISTENCY COUNTS! So, make sure your meals are consistently delivering the protein level you are targeting – otherwise you’re just delaying results.

Q: Is ISOGOLD lactose free?:

A: The real fact is NO whey isolate is absolutely 100.00% lactose free – any whey protein product claiming to be “lactose free” is VERY LIKELY NOT, and would therefore not be complying with US FDA or Health Canada regulations either. The regulations are clear there – if there is ANY “detectable lactose” the product should not claim to be “lactose free”. Every whey protein has at least some “detectable lactose” If you can handle about 1/8th of a cup of milk, your body can likely easily tolerate ISOGOLD’s trivial amount of lactose – both have roughly the same little amount of lactose. As always though, if you are truly concerned consult your doctor.

Q: How good does ISOGOLD taste?

A: Well you don’t win 6 awards for being #1 Isolate* of the year and #1 Overall Product* of the year a combined 6x without also tasting great! Being the actual formulator and manufacturer of our powders for all these years, we have learned a thing or 2 about flavoring.

First, we team up with some of the very top flavor houses - including one of which also supplies Ben & Jerry’s ice cream with some of their ingredients. After starting with all these exceptional flavor ingredients, we then next had to develop a system in-house that uses those multiple flavor ingredients in specific ratios depending on the finished flavor we’re targeting. Many protein powders don’t do that though - often, they go to a 3rd party copacker, and many times the copacker is using just ONE major flavoring. Instead we use MULTIPLE flavors in each recipe, to help keep the taste more consistent batch-to-batch AND deliver a multi-layered flavor experience. It simply covers more of the flavor palette so that we get to enjoy an overall better taste across a broader spectrum. (Kind of like what premium ice cream formulas deliver). So we think it tastes pretty good - and the awards back that up!
